Works for me. LGTM. Will merge later once I have lifted the commits from my fork to here. |

It's working for now with the "new" dll file. I hope it stands. Thank you for the help! |

Now, following the change made about an hour ago, I no longer get weather details when clicking on the taskbar. Only a blank (empty) white square appears. If I disable and re-enable the weather feature in ExplorerPatcher, the details come back. A mystery... |

No mystery if you're a programmer that understands how code works. |
Good for you if you're a programmer. It's not the case for everyone. Please, have that in mind. And as a programmer, we're all waiting for a fix that works. Untill then, have a good day. |

I had to replace the DLL and change the icon pack from Google to Microsoft |

This worked with me today, including after a restart. Thank you! |
|
You don't have to restart. Just disable weather. Replace the dll. Enable weather. |

Working for me too (once I changed icon pack to Microsoft). Thanks for fixing it! |

Thank you davids5 for the good file it works and everything is fine. |

I would like to make a suggestion. Can you include an option in EP to show the weather page as is? This would allow people to get past the google thinks you're a bot, so that cookies can be set. It would also allow you as a developer to figure out if the code on the website changed, without having to use OBS Studio to capture the frame showing the reason why it would show no internet connection, |

Well, the good old weather widget is on the fritz again. I noticed this afternoon that the location was missing. So foolish me, I restarted it. And once again we're at the check the network nonsense. There is brief moment before it crashes the complains about location. And FWIW, I deleted and reinstalled, tried the 'new' .dll from earlier this week, and the old local.state replacement. Nothing worked/made a difference. So once again if anyone has the magic, I'm all in. 😂 |

Did you try changing the icon pack from Google to Microsoft? |
It's set to Microsoft by default. Or it is in this latest version. |

OK - I have to preface this by saying I am NOT a developer - had the same issue where both Microsoft and Google quit working again - ChatGPT and I spent some time this evening going through through this DLL - the first issue that I was having - Google is doing a CAPTCHA verification that EP is hiding and it was returning a reload error with an internet access issue popup as part of it - this would occur every time i did the Clear weather widget local data setting - ChatGPT helped me change that functionality to keep the CAPTCHA verification visible in the widget contents box so I could complete the verification - after that my Microsoft icon pack started working again - but still not Google - next ChatGPT figured out that the rendering of the Google icons wasn't working correctly - something to do with Google using SVG files instead of PNG files now which may be why it just broke a few weeks ago - and redid the code for that and the Google Icon Pack is working on mine now as well. One final thing was the weather widget popup box was cutoff on the far right some and we adjusted the width slightly to see the entire 8 day forecast. I went through every setting in that Weather screen and all the options seem to be working. I'm attaching the ep_weather_host.dll that we built - use at your discretion - and I give all the credit to OpenAI 🙂 |
We don't accept ai slop here. |
Recent changes in Google weather broke the last fragile fix.
