Emmet "Wrap with Abbreviation" opens wrong panel instead of input dialog (extension, and built in). #3023
Description:
Triggering Emmet's "Wrap with Abbreviation" no longer opens the expected floating input dialog for entering an HTML tag/abbreviation. Instead, a small docked panel opens at the bottom of the editor (screenshot attached). This previously worked correctly in an earlier version of Phoenix Code.
I have tried uninstalling the emmet extension, re-assigning key-bindings, turning the built-in emmet on and off, and reinstalling the emmet extension.
Reproduction
Open a .php file containing HTML markup
Select/highlight a block of text
Trigger "Wrap with Abbreviation" (via menu or keyboard shortcut)
Instead of the abbreviation input prompt, a small bottom-docked panel appears and takes focus
Expected behavior
A small pop-up dialog should appear with the default set html tag, and the ability to override this with current wanted tag if not the default (as per usual emmet behavior).
Hey @x572b, sorry about the issue. Phoenix Code no longer supports the Emmet extension.
Phoenix already has built-in Emmet support: here's the link to the docs https://docs.phcode.dev/docs/Features/emmet.
We are aware that some really useful commands from the extension, like "Wrap with Abbreviation," are still missing.
We're working on bringing those back, and hopefully we'll have full-fledged Emmet support ready in the August release!
