I use Timeshift 25.12.4-1 on ArchLinux with KDE plasma and Gnome booth installed. xdg-mime query default inode/directory give me org.kde.dolphin.desktop but I've ever got the issue. temporary rename /usr/bin/nautilus make dolphin running from timeshift. |

Please note that I compiled and installed my fork, and the problem is now resolved for me. |

my change was merged after 25.12.4. so if you just check out the master branch and build that (without your change) it will probably also work. |
I just tried it a moment ago: and now nautilus opens in root mode ! (but not dolphin) And just as I expected, once Nemo is installed, it's Nemo that launches. |

Since Nautilus can't run as root, it might even be removed. Putting it in second place is, in my opinion, a very bad idea.
