on_token_rotated, including awaited callbacks, are caught and reported
separately after the credential Secret is updated, rather than propagating into
_token_refresh_loop()'s generic retry path. Ensure callback failures do not
trigger another RotateToken call while preserving the normal token-rotation
result.

- Line 47: Add a synchronous token-rotation callback test alongside the existing
AsyncMock coverage in the exporter token refresh tests. Use a callback that
records the token and returns None, then assert rotate_token() invokes it once
with the expected token and completes normally, covering the non-awaitable
branch of on_token_rotated.

Add table-driven tests in op_test.go covering: (a) valid token with both iat and exp gives the correct duration; (b) missing iat returns zero; (c) missing exp returns zero; (d) malformed token returns an error.

I really dont understand why we have 3 cases here. Cant we just add a ExpiringSoon instead of this 7 and 30d threshold?

anyio.to_thread.run_sync is called without cancellable=True. Doesnt this stall SIGTERM?

Please add tests, if I am able to count properly this has 5 branches and is quite important
Request replacement internal credentials before expiry and reuse rotated credentials for subsequent controller channels. Persist tokens off the event loop, retry unsupported rotation RPCs after controller upgrades, and skip automatic rotation for external OIDC credentials. Validate issuer, signature, audience, expiry, and exporter UID before rotation. Share credential signing and Secret updates with client rotation, and cover rejection and renewal behavior in tests. Document token persistence and the validity of previously issued tokens. Signed-off-by: Benny Zlotnik <bzlotnik@redhat.com>
Expose TokenExpiresAt and TokenExpiring on Exporter status, emit credential and expiry events, and display expiry in kubectl output. Scale the warning window to ten percent of the issued token lifetime, capped at thirty days, so short-lived credentials can renew before raising an alert. Reconcile often enough to detect missed renewal while an exporter is offline. Cover warning thresholds for annual, monthly, and hourly credentials. Signed-off-by: Benny Zlotnik <bzlotnik@redhat.com>
