Official way to force a key frame with the AV1 encoder? #184

Is submitting encode_ctrl.FrameType = MFX_FRAMETYPE_I sufficient?

Will this produce a frame type of KEY FRAME in the bitstream?

I want to be able to force a key frame (random access point), I'm just unsure if MFX_FRAMETYPE_I could be a frame that still depends on previous frames.

With HEVC it's more obvious, I submit MFX_FRAME_TYPE_IDR.
