Summary

  • New graphite-dev feature: Graphite CLI (gt) + Graphite.gti-vscode extension.
  • gt installed from npm (@withgraphite/graphite-cli@stable) with dependsOn the node feature. Graphite ships no standalone binary and its Homebrew formula only wraps npm install.
  • postStartCommand runs gt auth --token "$GRAPHITE_TOKEN" on every start. Nothing is stored in the image or a volume. A missing or rejected token only warns.
  • Warns at build if git is older than 2.38 (required by gt 1.x).
  • Wired into scopes.json, both CI matrices, README and AGENTS.md.

Test plan

  • install.sh + test/graphite-dev/test.sh run by hand in node:22 (gt 1.8.6 installed, all checks pass)
  • CI feature tests on ubuntu:latest and devcontainers/base:ubuntu
  • Real gt auth with a valid token (not tested)

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Installs gt via npm (no standalone binary exists; the Homebrew formula
wraps npm too), the Graphite.gti-vscode extension, and signs gt in from
GRAPHITE_TOKEN on every container start without persisting the token.
