When the approval callback is rejected and MySQL is unavailable for both markCompensating and the fallback refundHookStarted, this path only logs the failures and reports false; the journal remains HOOK_STARTED, while automatic recovery selects only RESERVED and COMPENSATING, leaving the source permanently charged. Unlike the already-fixed double-scheduler rejection, the fresh evidence here is that an accepted compensation task can itself lose the durable fence, so record the local compensation marker before returning from this failure path.

If runTaskAsynchronously rejects synchronously in claimSharedMysqlPurchaseAsync, it returns an already-failed future, so this whenComplete callback runs inline on the player's entity lane and directly executes markCompensating plus the JDBC refund. During scheduler shutdown or rejection this can therefore block a Bukkit/Folia tick on multiple connection attempts; route this branch through scheduleSharedMysqlCompensation rather than calling the database routine inline.

VoteShopLoader accepts section keys verbatim, but this recovery allow-list rejects valid YAML identifiers containing spaces or other quoted punctuation. In shared-MySQL mode, a limited item such as Daily Reward can still be reserved and debited because the normal SQL path quotes its column, yet its periodic reset fails this check and compensation cannot refund the stored debit. Validate this identifier grammar while loading the item before it becomes purchasable, or encode the durable column consistently.
