Hi! Thank you for following up. I managed to resolve the issue.

The bad request: Authorization header is badly formatted error was caused by a configuration mismatch on my end regarding the GITHUB_TOKEN.

The Setup & Fix:

Initially, the CLI wasn't picking up the GITHUB_TOKEN because I hadn't explicitly exported it in my shell configuration .zshrc. Consequently, the extension was likely sending an invalid header (either empty or missing the Bearer prefix if I tried to configure it manually in settings.json).

Confirmation on Docs:

I did follow the docs, but I think I missed the step ensuring the environment variable was properly exported and available to the Gemini CLI process. Once I ran export GITHUB_TOKEN=my_token and restarted the session, the extension picked it up correctly, and the connection was successful.
