Serving JSONC files with an ambiguous media-type (application/json) is problematic; IMHO, the specification should advocate for a media-type of application/jsonc.

That's a good point. We could definetly add a section for it. Then the best would be to make a formal request to the IANA once the specification is no longer a draft.

Better to include it, because if you don't, somebody's just gonna spin off another conflicting and confusingly-named superset of the format named jsoncc (JSON with Comments and Commas) or whatever. Which uses a differing file-extension if we're lucky 🤞.

I myself agree due to what I thought is the purpose of the format. But others here disagree, and that's fair. So for now, we're waiting on the MS parser, as far as I understand.

A spin-off is being discussed here but I would prefer to avoid that as well.
